  68. This package contains Cumberland Story (Version 1.2), by Cumberland
  69. Family Software.  This document contains only a brief description of the
  70. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.
  71. Quite detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in
  72. archived form, and is more easily read after installation (especially by
  73. using the on-line Help).

  75. Cumberland Story is a shareware program.  This evaluation version
  76. includes all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.
  77. You may use it for up to 30 days, without charge. If you like the
  78. program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you
  79. are required to pay for the program (see ORDER.TXT for more details).

  99. ===== Installation =====================================

  101. The installation procedure for Cumberland Story is quite simple. The
  102. package includes an installation batch file, "INSTALL.BAT", which
  103. automates the entire process.  You will need about 700K of available
  104. disk space on the hard drive on which you plan to install the program.
  105.  
  106. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received the
  107. program.
  108.  
  109. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  110.  
  111. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  112.  
  113.    o  Place the distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the appropriate
  114.       diskette drive.
  115.  
  116.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.BAT" program on the distribution diskette.
  117.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, you must
  118.       change to drive a: by entering "a:" then type the install command,
  119.       source drive and destination drive. Example: "install a: c:". The
  120.       installation routine will notify you if there are any errors.
  121.  
  122. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  123.  
  124. If you downloaded the program from a BBS (or received it in the
  125. form of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform
  126. the following steps.
  127.  
  128.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a sub directory.
  129.       The procedure for doing this varies, depending on the form in
  130.       which you received the package. In all likelihood, the fact that
  131.       you are reading this text means that you already have the
  132.       necessary tools and knowledge to perform this step. If not, you
  133.       should be able to obtain directions for this from the same source
  134.       from which you received the package. You do not need to run the
  135.       INSTALL program, as it is not part of the package and is only
  136.       distributed on diskette.
